ICS M4 will not go back together

Right, i have never had this problem before but i am stumped.

So i opened up my gun bag with my M4 in today and the back body pin had fell out somehow and the body was split in half as it would be. Now I have had the gun open many times before to do work and for general maintenance.

However when I try to put it back together there is something stopping it. It gets to about 1cm away from being shut and then there is very strong resistance. I have spent a fair while looking at it but i have no idea what is stopping it from closing.

Any help would be much appreciated

This happened to mine mate, all I did was adjust the top gearbox a couple of times before it snapped shut. Mind you it was only off by about 3mm when resistance was felt.

fire it a few times until the cog in the gearbox is smooth on top, then try shutting it, happened to me.
