Help with parts for a GB
15 August, 2010, 20:55
Looking to upgrade my MP5 and was wondering if anyone could give some advice on thses products:
Element AEG HIGH SPEED FLAT Gear Set
Dream Army Reinforced Polymer Full Steel Teeth Piston
Element AEG Silicon Hop Up Bucking - 45 Hard
Element AEG Tappet Plate For Ver II
Dream Army Double O Ring Air Seal Nozzle for MP5 AEG
Element Silent Head Set for Ver.II Gearbox
Element Gearbox Spring Set / Full Set
Quite alot but basicly are Element and Dream Army any good? Would be nice to have spares of things to try short stroking ect. So if you've had any experience with these just enlighten me. All contributions help.
Thanks
(P.S. Does any know what size the gearbox is on the ICS MP5's?)

Re: Help with parts for a GB
Might be better off getting a soft hop bucking, hard bucking is more for high powered stuff.
section 24 of the 1968 Act

45 is soft it is just the way they display it on the box. Instead of saying soft they say hard...lol....Language differences.

Re: Help with parts for a GB
not really but da pistons are only really good with high fps setups and as its steel it will also wear the spur gear quicker but ally ones dont.
also get a gear clip you may as well as its only £2 and will improve feeding.

Re: Help with parts for a GB
im assuming your goal is high rof ?
Spring is important your going to want an ms90 at most
Youll need a light plastic piston, and potentially remove some weight from this.
Try and keep all the parts element.
An element high speed motor would work well here too.
Air seals arnt masivly important in high rof setups, yes you need to maximise the lower power springs abilitys but the better the air seals the more friction is cuased and the slower you rof.
less grease / thiner grease and help here too.
Dont bother trying short stroking till youve got a working normal setup at a high rof.. that would be running before you can crawl.

To remove weight do you mean drilling the piston? If so yes
.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Help with parts for a GB
the most important thing you can do is fit one piece at a time. And check its operation. Then check combinations of parts. The freeer the operation the less effort the gearbox will have to make. You want the only resistance to be the main spring and the tappet plate spring.
There truely is a million things you can do on top of buying the parts.
