Rebuilding a split gearbox ICS m4
22 March, 2020, 15:48
I'm currently rebuilding an old ICS m4 and i have a few questions.
1) can i put any version 2 gearbox in the reciever or does it have to be the ICS split version.
2) do i need to use an ICS hop up chamber? I've heard that other brands don't fit into the gun.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

As far as I know:
1) Yes, the upper and lower receiver will not fit together with a normal V2 gearbox. The upper receiver close down on the ICS, on all other it slides on to close.
2) I think any hop chamber will do. Just google some images and see it they look the same. Fitted a friends ICS with a new chamber and I sure it was just a normal one.

You could possibly get a v2 gearbox to fit, it would be trial and error, so you would need to have a few makes to hand to find out for sure, ive fitted non ics v2 gearbox into ics mp5 before it wasnt easy
