Classic Army M4, misfiring
26 September, 2010, 21:19
Hi forum people
I've been out of airsoft for about 2-3 years but still had all of my stuff. Decided to get back into the sport and i've got my first skirmish on wednesday. I own a Classic Army based M4 with an upgraded gearbox, i brought it second hand 3 years ago off the old ascuk forums so i didn't do the upgrades myself and can't tell you what they were exactly. It always fired perfectly back then.
Since i dug it out its been acting a bit wafty. 50% of the time it'll fire perfectly, full power, straight as an arrow. The other 50% of the time it doesn't fire at all, no noise whatsoever from the motor of the gearbox, this can happen at any time, start, middle or end of mag, whether its dry firing or not. Sometimes it can be corrected by an old school smack on the side but not always.
Any ideas what it could be? I'm guessing dodgy wiring but i'm not any expert...
