Element silenced cylinder and Piston head
28 September, 2010, 20:49
Upcoming project, you may of seen my thread, I was going to do the hello kitty M4, but can't find a cheap base gun, so, iam starting my first ever Mp5 project, shouldn't be too hard, same gearbox, and I have a Mp5 ready to buy. Now that's out of the way, iam looking at ordering these parts (title), apparently they put less strain on the GB and silence the gun a little bit, has anyone had experience with this setup and what other parts might I need to support this GB setup, iam probably going to put a high torque in it, but will i need a new piston, my guess is probably yes as I want it quite fast.
Thanks, Luke.

You'll need to swap the airnozzle and selector plate on the MP5 gearbox!

Red up on the air nozzle bit, but why the selector plate?

Re: Element silenced cylinder and Piston head
I've got the set in my ICS MP5. It's not much quieter, but it has made a difference. The tone has also changed to be more rounded (vs the stock ICS head set).
The air seal though seem to be really good, so I'm pleased.
Depending on what piston/headset you have at the moment you may need to lose one or two teeth from the piston body as the piston head can make the piston assembly longer than stock versions.
I also have an Element duracon piston which has the teeth spaced away from the end to address this.
