M4 Trigger Won't Stay In Place!
3 October, 2010, 17:56
Any advise, as I'm about 10 seconds away from throwing the whole lot against the wall and crying like a child!
For some reason I cannot get the trigger to stay in place. Yesterday it was fine, and it happily stayed there whilst I look photos etc!
Now it just pings right out the instant I let go. Any ideas?

That funny looking spring? Push it into the gearbox as much as you can.

Make sure the spring is seated gully in the trigger hole
Push into the gear box hole then hold it down with a weighty item
then close it all up

I've heard some people use big magnets to keep the gears ARL and trigger in place before putting the GB back together. Sounds crazy to me. If you have a big magnet though, it might work.

Hehe, good stuff.
Dope - nice idea, may just stick my element motor under any gearbox that I work on!

Nice idea yeah. But I'm pretty sure most triggers aren't magnetic. The only external part of my AMD-65 that isn't magnetic is the trigger, and the plastic grip. Still, for the ARL is could be very useful.

sopmod m4 has a cool little spring latch that you hook it onto so it stays in place :D not that that helps you in the slightest
