ICS m4 loose fire selector
18 October, 2010, 17:40
Hi guys,
Not found anything on this and wondering for a little help. The fire selector (safe/semi/auto) is a little loose. What I mean is that the click when put into different firing modes is nit very crisp. Also, it is quite easy to accidentally push the selector out of position, like it often gets brushed by my leg into semi when it is hanging on my sling.
Just wondering if there is any way to stiffen the selector? It'd be nice to have a clean, decisive click when I change firing modes.

Re: ICS m4 loose fire selector
It could be selector itself is warn in the mechanism?? Have you opened it up and had a look?

No I haven't. I'm not sure how... It's a possibility as I bought the gun second hand. How easy would that be to fix?

Re: ICS m4 loose fire selector
You have to remove the lower gearbox.
Then push out the blanking plate from the right side.
Then you can access the screw and check it's tight.

Will the lower gearbox just pull out or do I need to detach it from something?

Re: ICS m4 loose fire selector
remove the base plate from the pistol grip,
carefully detach the wires from the motor,
slide the motor out,
there are two screws inside the pistol grip holding it on and the gearbox into the receiver, remove these.
The pistol grip should come away.
Remove the screw from the mag release and remove the mag relase.
Gearbox should come out

Re: ICS m4 loose fire selector
Right, so it's in bits but I'm having trouble moving this planking plate. Should it just push out with enough force? Don't want to break it!

Hi again,
So I got it back together after tightening the screw. Unfortunately the aftermarket grips were now in the way! Out comes the knife... It's better now but still not massively clicky. Can these things be bought spare?

They realy arent that stiff from new.
