Re: what is wrong with my gun?
I wouldnt take the gear box appart again...just check it without the motor in it. You can still check the shimming and that everything else moves freely, just lift the anti reverse to release spring tension.

Re: what is wrong with my gun?
Does that sector gear engage the piston correctly? I mean, it looks like it would try and pick up the second tooth.
I'm personally not convinced by the idea of a high speed motor, and high speed gears. The gears will basically mean the motor doesn't have to rotate as many times to fire a shot, but will need to pull harder for the fewer rotations. Then you've got a motor on that, which isn't designed to pull hard, but rotate fast. Bad combination. The effort required for it to turn, will be being provided by amps, not volts, amps make things hot. So this could explain the problem. But also, I'd make sure your shimming is spot on first, and the motor is adjusted correctly, as has been said many times already.
