TM M16A2 forward assist

My recently acquired TM M16A2's forward assist knob constantly falls out of the receiver. I have read that this may be the case of a missing rolling pin which holds the knob in place. However, the AEG didn't come with said rolling pin and there are no holes in the receiver through which such a pin could go through.

I only have the knob and the spring which sits inside of it.

Am I missing a part or am I missing a simple fix in front of me?

They just clip in. There is no locking pin. Chances are the little tab of plastic has broken and this it's not being held in any more. Or you might be lucky and it might have bent inwards and thus not be clipping. It's hard to describe without having one in front of you. Look to see if there's any obvious tab of plastic having been broken off.

Ah. I see. Looks like that little tab has broken on mine I'll just glue the knob in then.
