wont stop firing, ics ak74

i was doing some plinking today, i fired about 10 rounds on full auto then took my finger of the trigger........
the gun continued firing and the only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery

so now when the battery is connected you take it off safe and it immediately starts firing on its own.


any ideas?

Sounds like an electrical fault mate. I'd strip it down and look at the wiring first, make sure there are no bare wires etc touching the body then take a look at the trigger contact. Sounds like its may not be returning and u have a permanent live feed. Either way there is a constant live somewhere which is why its continuing to fire.

that not a wiring fault ,

that is trigger contact problem,
or maybe the trigger block return spring has snapped

Yeah, sounds like a return spring. Have one spare if you pay for the postage.

I had this problem with my MP5 a few weeks ago i had to have new gears and a new trigger assembly put in and the gears had lost some teeth aswell so that might be a problem in yours aswell

Thinking about what what yogibear just said it could be the cut off lever has worn and/or the part of the sector that contacts with it has worn.

sorted,

the tappet plate had snapped and a piece of it had fallen into the trigger mechanism.
