What are the wires called?
29 October, 2010, 16:29
Hi there,
The wires connecting to the motor on my m4 have broken.
ill try to explain what has happened...
on the red wire where it plugs in the wire, the metal connector has comeout of the black 'sleeve' and so it no longer connects to the wire inside the plastic.
if you under stand then wow... but anyway
do i need to replace the whole wire or just the end? and btw if i do need new parts please can someone give me a list of the parts needed or links in a pm or something to show what i need.
If you have any questions, please ask
thanks in advance

Re: What are the wires called?
i think your on about the spade connector in the heat shrink tubing. you can either get a new spade connector or just solder the wire to the motor

Re: What are the wires called?
Sounds like the motor connector came off the end of the wire. You can either strip some wire back, if you have enough spare, and re crimp it into place, or solder it back on. Or you could buy new prommy gold plated motor connectors. If the wire isn't long enough to do any of these, you'd need to get more motor connectors, and new wire. I guess you could solder the wire direct onto the motor, but it's awkward to disassemble then.

Re: What are the wires called?
crimp - getting the spade connector feed the wire through the hole in the back and using plyers you crush the hole where the wire is fed through and it will stay on and connected with out any solder.
