P90 questions
4 November, 2010, 19:52
Hi there long time forum stalker here with a few questions I cant find answered anywhere else,
Is it possible to take a Thompson v6 gearbox and convert it to a P90 one?
What parts would you recommend installing into a 10 year old TM P90 with no issues except a slightly lower ROF?
Would it be worth using a tune up kit? If so which one? Is the hurricane one any good?
Anyone got any other optional solutions for carrying P90 mags?
Cheers
Magic

Re: P90 questions
If you have it running fine at the moment, no real need to do anything. If you want to up the ROF a simple change like a faster motor or bigger battery should do the trick. So long as you don't go too far, you won't need to change any parts.
As for mags, they are a pain! I used to have a triple pouch on each side of a belt rig, and a further triple pouch upside down on the back of my plate carrier.

Re: P90 questions
Although both use what is classed as a version 6 gearbox, there appears to be a few differences. Perhaps these videos will help:
Version 6 P90 Gearbox Guide
Thompson Version 6 Gearbox Guide
As you can see from the videos, they're not exactly the same.
Not a solid answer, I know, but it's a start
