VSR Twist barrel in a tm p90

Hi guys got a very simple and short question here which I really need to know, bought myself a TK twist bar 10 length (430mm) for my tm p90 with silencer on, I know the silencer will cover the barrel length wise but will it fit the hop unit ok? Is currently being posteed from hong kong

It won't mate no. Not without modification. VSR/BAR barrels are made specifically for that hop unit.

It would need to be cut with a sort of dremmel tool, cant remember exactly the shape of the hop hole, but theres a hop unit you buy to allow your vsr to run on aeg barrels, so defo not compatible

just had a very brief go at putting an old vsr stock barrel i had into the p90 hop unit and it fitted much better than i thought it would, the bucking fitted fine and I think with a little thought it would fit in easily enough. What is it specifically that does not allow these barrels to be interchangable? Is it a possible bad airseal?

The groves in the barrel for the hop unit are different.

do you mean in the indent where the bucking presses around or the 'mounting' indents?

The mounting indents are different 100%. It will fit in the unit but will be able to be pulled out with little or no force. I'm unsure about the hop bucking indent. It may well not work altogether if the hopup cutout on the barrel is offset to far. Your best bet would be to sell the VSR barrel. And buy a new TK twist aeg version. You won't lose much ££ after selling on the VSR barrel as it'll be new. And everywhere in the U.K is out of stock.

@jag i have a nitro ris system on my p90 with a silencer, and was going to get the twist barrel for it and realised i could fit a 430mm barrel in perfectly. so i thought why not haha
so the barrel is up for sale now as soon as it arrives
could someone advise me on the longest barrel that is compatible with the p90 hop up please? am i right in thinking that all 'AEG' barrels are "hop up interchangable" but the vsr not?

All AEG barrels are the same really. You want a TK Twist One specifically?

Yep

They do 460mm and 510mm ones!

alright guys thanks for all the help, change of question now though
managed to fit my spare stock vsr barrel (until the new twist one arrives) and fitted very well with no more movement than the stock barrel suprisingly! next question is though, the 303mm g spec spare i was using is longer than the p90 stock barrel and wouldnt go through the flash hider area on the p90, how would i go about widening it to accomdate the longer barrel?
