G&P Hop up

Got a G&P M4 putting it back together and notice there was no O-ring on the end of the hop to make a seal with the air nozzle is that right? surely metal on metal makes a terrible seal? or have i lost something in reassembly? thanks

there is no seal on the hop body as the nozzle seals against the hop rubber
