Real sword type 56 upgrades?
20 December, 2010, 11:56
Was looking for suggestions on what to do to upgrade my RS type56-1?
I've put in a guarder 100 spring and a guarder hop rubber, lubed the gear box etc.
Looking for ideas for enhancing the gearbox ie new piston parts.
The gun is about 2 years+ and I want to make it bullet proof and silky as possible for next year!!

Re: Real sword type 56 upgrades??
I'd be interested, too. The only complaint I have with mine is the hop.
When I set it, rather than it going:

it goes:
__________________________------------- and then sharply up into the sky!
It's almost as if it forgets there's spin on the BB until the very end of its trajectory.

The GB is already enhanced. If you break something, just buy a new Real Sword part for it.
IIRC, because the gearbox is shorter than the usual V3, the piston is shorter - so if that's broken you'll need to buy a Real Sword one.

Can you purchase seal kits for the real sword guns?
Would like to do a bit of maintenance at least.

What you have done to it is all you realy want to do to it, they are bullet proof. I have emailed you a review plus upgrades some one has done about the 56-1

I'd only do the maintenance if you need to. Is the compression as expected (i.e. are you getting the right FPS for the spring)? If so, I'd leave it at that. If you do need to replace the O-ring or whatever, they are standard.

I disagree. They are bomb proof

Sorry for the slight hijack, can anyone answer my query? Is this phenomenemonemeononmeon specific to RS hops?

Re: Real sword type 56 upgrades?
I'm pretty sure I recall having that flight path when I first got my 97.
I kept the original hop rubber as it was a nice tight fit, but replaced the nub with a fatter one (out of a Madbull Blue packet IIRC). I also switched the barrel to Prommy.
I don't know if the 97B's hop was similarly affected as, superstitiously, I switched out the barrel and did the same hop mod before I even fired it.
