  • Putting in a longer barrel to a p90?

    hey guys,
I put in a 459 twist barrel into my p90, (which is without a battery atm) and was wondering will i need to get a non ported cylinder for the gearbox? if so would a ver 2 cylinder fit? if not where could i get one for the ver 6?
    thanks

yes any cylinder will fit and youll need a full none ported one..

Also make sure the barrel is properly support and "steel" is a good choice. The problem is the p90 can flex at the end with slings attached. over time. If you have a long barrel its more likely to bend and flex with it.

    Just something ive seen.

thanks, any particular cylinder than you would recommend?
im sorry but would you mind elaborating on the 'bending', lost me a bit there haha! i made my own custom sling which attaches to the rear end of the gun only just to let you know

just been looking around and would a "Prometheus Hard Cylinder for Barrel 550-451" from support of fire fit alright?
      cheers

the word on in this thread is that you shouldnt put anything in your p90 longer than 280mm or 300 max.....

Re: Putting in a longer barrel to a p90?

there are loads of reasons, you should ask Richardy..hes the expert...but there is an optimum length of a barrel where the bb comes out with the most accuracy and fps etc without having to massively upgrade your mechbox...and 280 seems to be it....

ahh i see where your coming from now and yeh very true, only thing is this is a twist barrel being used where unlike standard TB barrels, the extra length still does aid accuracy
cheers and thanks again for your very clear help richardy (via pms aswell)
