Blown my fuse i think?! Helllppppp!
24 December, 2010, 21:19
Hey guys, just started my rewire, finished lengthening one of the wires and decided i would test it, however me being a dumb a**e i plugged the battery straight into the wire with the fuse on it?! This wire is split from the wire to the gearbox... So the fuse sparked, and is now frazzled, blown. mother f**ker.
Since i have ics, oh yes it has to be complicated! I have a different type of fuse... see the picture below, (i hope this is the fuse?!). So i can't find where i am going to get a replacement and i am supposed to be skrimming on the 2nd. So, please help :D

Thanks for any help!

Re: Blown my fuse i think?! Helllppppp!
the link doesn't work. If it is like a plug top fuse but bigger and glass, halfords will have something to do the job. Or the best place would electrical wholesalers, like CEF, Denmans etc, they should have every fuse under the sun.
I hope no one considers them Z1 competitors?! :s

Standard fuse, my ford focus uses them. There's two sizes, big and small
not sure on what there actual name is but as the guy said above, halfords or any electrical reseller should stock them.

I think the stock fuses are about 10amp but don't quote me on that. I use 11.1v lipos so stick a 20 amp fuse. I think 30amp is overkill tbh.
Don't go over 20 or you could risk frying your wires if there was ever an electrical problem in the future.

Airsoft fuses are normally 15-16A IIRC, I imagine halfords or an auto factors is your best bet. Electrical wholsalers mentioned before probably won't carry automotive fuses- which these are. B&Q may have them in a car repair set, but halfords is the answer

Ok thanks guys, just looked on the bottom of my fuse that's blown, and it says 30, so its 30amps. Should i get the same again?

It did its job without incident so i see no reason not to change like for like.
30amp mini blade fuse halfords is your best bet.
