Just wondering how to lock a m14 (version 7 gearbox) to semi

you can flip the short part of the selector plate which comes off when its on semi and that will prevent you from selecting between full and semi.. worked for me

The only other way is a MOSFET controller.

If you are raising the fps level above general aeg level. Some site require the one second delay to simulate the cocking of a boltie. Mind you in that case they should also allow you the full fps of gas snipers.
