M4: Getting wires into stock tube
8 January, 2011, 03:12
How do I run the wires from the gearbox into the stock tube?
The hole in receiver only seems big enough for the stock tube bolt, and the gearbox fits tight to the receiver crushing wires?
Anyone got any pics or a guide to help me out?

You could take the dremel to it,

Pic thanks to TriChrome ASNJ
IIRC some brands offer receivers with a similar wiring guide.

That's great! Any ideas how I could cut that without a dremel (no bits for mine left!) perhaps a hacksaw blade??
I'm guessing this is what most people do with regards to getting the wires in the stock tube??

Yeah a Hacksaw blade should do the job, just make sure that you sand the sharp edges down because the sharp edges because you don't want a main short, particularly if you are using a LiPO!
Just checked my G&P Magpul receiver, the wiring guide routes are similar.

I think I'll just leave the wires showing for Sundays game then dremel it, it seems the best way to go about this.
