mp5 stuck on auto
21 January, 2011, 17:13
Ok got an mp5 and its stuck on auto fire.
It doesent shoot on safety but whenIi put it into semi or auto it fires fully automatic 24/7.
The trigger feels like its not doing anything.
Anyone know what it is .
I reckon it is that little safety bar next to the trigger or a spring for the contacts.
Thanks for your help and time

Re: mp5 stuck on auto
The connector mech might be jammed. Undo the the bottom right screw(closest to the trigger mech). Worked for me!

Re: mp5 stuck on auto
Then you just have to open it up. The trigger contacts could have broken or melted forming a complete circuit. Or the trigger spring has gone. Theres more but if you open it up it will show its self to you. How were you firing when it happend?

For how long? Could have heated them up and burst them together.

Erm? Contact don't melt themselves together?!
Anyway....
I suspect you'll find the spring that pulls back the "finger" of the trigger has snapped leaving it in the forward position (ie, completing the circuit).
A fairly common problem, luckily you'll only need a few quid spring set to fix it.

HAHA its ok I got two whole springs sets for v2 gearboxes , that is also what I thought it was as I couldn't feel the contacts touching eachother when I pull the trigger if you know what I mean.

Re: mp5 stuck on auto
Sounds about right. You'd have the tension of the trigger spring, but not the hit of the copper finger against the trigger contacts.

Isn't the melting point of copper around 1,000 degrees C?!
Quite impressive then, lol

Re: mp5 stuck on auto
They burnt out and bent to form a connection. I was running a car battery for quite a few rounds. Internals are fine just the non-'FET'ed trigger system didn't.
