Tappet plates breaking?
5 February, 2011, 12:03
Righto, took my G&P Gearbox to a skirmish, shot a few rounds through, then the air nozzle (Think thats what its called) stopped going back and forth, took it apart, and the tapped plate had broken so that was the cause of it not going back and forth.
I fitted a new tappet plate, and got about two shots then it stopped again, and it was due to another broken tappet plate?? What keeps causing my tappet plates to break?!?!
any help apreciated
thanks
Phil

Re: Tappet plates breaking?
AOE?
And what do you mean correcting the gears, Shimming them correctly?
And the break is just before the large bit that gets pulled back by the gears.

Re: Tappet plates breaking?
Check it moves smoothly in the case when screwed shut without the sector gear fitted.
Do you have a Sector chip/Tappet Delayer fitted?
Brand may be an issue, there is a lot of rubbish out there at the moment. I've had best results with Guarder and Modify.

Re: Tappet plates breaking?
I might buy a new Guarder tappet plate then, put one of those in a TM P90 and worked wonders, so i'll try that then

Re: Tappet plates breaking?
Yeah as above, cant see it being the AOE, no reason to correct that.
