nozzle position, help v much needed!!
15 February, 2011, 17:15
hi all, I think I may have done something wrong
currently my famas and m41fs (read as mc51) both seem to have a feeding issue, when cycled on semi the air nozzle doesnt cover the top of the bb feed tube from the mag.
can anyone advise, not afraid of stripping them down again, I think I may have the timing wrongly aligned.
please, please, please help

Re: nozzle position, help v much needed!!
You can't get the timing wrong, it sounds more like you haven't got the nozzle fixed to the tappet plate.

just stripped and rebuilt the v2 mechbox, when firing on semi it all cycles but the tappet is holding the nozzle in, I thought the nozzle should be fully extended after a semi auto cycle, am I right?

One cycle may not be enough. How are you connecting the tappet plate to the nozzle?

What's the feed issue?
Does the nozzle move back and forth without resistance.
The nozzle will be forward, but not always the whole way across!
(p.s) You can't screw up any timing on a gearbox. Afterall it resets itself after each shot.

You think wrong, as Jag says. It's nothing to do with the timing.

ok update, v2 gb air nozzle is deffo atached to the tappet plate, air nozzle always returns to its most rearward position after each trigger pull on semi, thinking it may be a hop issue

Re: nozzle position, help v much needed!!
Even with AB fets a gear box will seldom stop in the nozzle/ piston forward position. They can stop anywhere through the cycle. It is more common that the nozzle isn't retracted far enough to allow feeding rather than stays forward.
When you striped them what else did you do?
Unless you didn't put the spring back on the tappet plate of course...
