VFC mk 18 mod 1

Evening all
Just taken my vfc to skirmish for the first time tonight and it's died on me. no noisy gearbox no crunching just literally stopped working. Batteries are fully charged and working ok, fuse looks intact but pull the trigger and nothing.

Any ideas where i should start, got it open at the moment and am about to look to see if there are any loose connections other than that I have no idea what to do next.

can't send it back as i bought it out of HK (big mistake)
