iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
17 February, 2011, 12:22
Just got my iMax B6 lipo charger but when charging, after about 5 sec I get a 'Input Vol Err' on the display. I have selected the correct lipo voltage of 11.1v and set the amps to 0.9. I have read this thread 'http://www.zeroin.co.uk/showthread.php?t=93001&highlight=lipo+charger' but mine is a different problem. Help please.

That's usually down to whatever power supply is powering it, not being able to supply it with enough power

Highly probably!
Try to charge at 0.1 A, may be it works!

Re: iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
It depends
If you select "charge" you can or not insert the balance lead in, doesn't matter.
If you select "balance" or somethings like that you MUST insert the balance lead in!

Re: iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
right easy one
as fizzy says, the incorrect input voltage means there is not enough voltage going into the unit to charge
so order a power pack and will work
also, once power pack there , correct the settings via the use program selection, and allow the full 12v to power into the unit, and the cut off level should be around 9-10v

Guard, I am using a 12v 5A power unit but I have gone into the program section and it says
'Input Power Low'
'Cut-off 10.0v'
on the same screen, should this say something else?

Re: iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
yeah put that setting to 11
that will cut off the charger if the power is lower then 11v going into it,
also are you sure you have the correct power adaptor for the charger, as many are ok but dont power it correctly ,
there are packs specifically for the Imax on flea bay mate

Re: iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
The 7.4v battery has got a charge as it still fires my M4, all plugs are connected to the charger and the battery, I've selected fast lipo charge and dropped the amps to 0.4a and it seems to be working. Display shows:
Li2S 0.4A 7.55V
FAS 003.51 00026
If I press the Inc. button it reads:
3.77 3.77V 0.00V
0.00 0.00V 0.00V
Is this correct at the start? Sorry but Im new to lipos.

If I press the Inc. button it reads:
3.77 3.77V 0.00V
0.00 0.00V 0.00V
that is yeah, as the balancer tab is in the charger and the cells are charging and balancing together,
does it cut out once your battery is charging .....

'does it cut out once your battery is charging .....'? Not sure what you mean. I stopped charging after 10 mins as I was charging upstairs and went down stairs for the night. Dident want to leave it unattended so I'll do my bats at work tomorrow when I can keep an eye on them. Thanks for everyones help.

&.4 on fast charge now and looking good, only thing is if I press the Dec. button it says:
End Voltage
8.4V(2S)
Is this correct for a 7.4v battery? I carnt see anywhere to change it.

Re: iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
Yeah, sounds about right. My 7.4v cells take 4.2v after a charge, giving the same 8.4v you have (it can vary slightly)

Re: iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
Is there a way to check whats left in the battery? I've charged a 9.9v LiFe battery with all leads connected and it screen reads
Li3s (flashing to FULL) 0.0A 10.79V
FAS 000:25 00001
second screen
3.59 3.58V 3.59V
0.00 0.00V 0.00V
Did this charge or not? Seems to have done this very quick. How can I check?
With my pro peak charger I pressed one button and that was it, bleeped at the end and battery felt hot. God this was simple!

Re: iMax B6 lipo charger 'Input Vol Err'?
Just charged a 11.1v Lipo, screen says
Li3s (flashing to FULL) 0.0A 12.60V
FAS 030:23 00444
second screen
4.19 4.20V 4.19V
0.00 0.00V 0.00V
As above, did this charge? How can I check?
