Faultfinding a completely dead gun
3 March, 2011, 18:25
Got a TM AK beta upstairs. I thought the battery was dead (it'd gone a very long time with no charge), but when I inserted a brand new, fully charged battery I still got absolutely no response when I tried to test-fire it.
What sort of things should I be checking? Not much experience fault-finding this stuff.
My good man, why do you bandy words like this? You are wasting time...Words are potent in debate, deeds in war decide your fate. Then don't go on piling up the words, but fight!

Re: Faultfinding a completely dead gun
There are a lot of threads about this sort of thing :P but
1,fuse
2,motor connections ok
3, wiring look ok / battery connectors look ok ( if full stock remove the stock and you will find 2 more connectors )
4, make sure you nice new battery is fully charged :P
anything more and you will need to go in to the box

You need a multi meter and to trace where to power is stopping.

Re: Faultfinding a completely dead gun
if it's stock check the fuse in the stock.
if the fuse is ok remove the pistol grip and remove the 2 screws holding the motor cage to the gearbox. hold the motor cage and try firing it. it the motor spins the gearbox is locked up. If the motor doesn't spin check the 2 motor connectors are not loose.
If all this is good it's probably a gearbox fault and you should then be looking at the selector plate, switch assembly or the wiring.
