Ares CTAR not firing - fire selector switch/rod
28 March, 2011, 08:35
Hey all,
I can get the mesh box to fire once it has been removed from the housing but not once its housed back in the gun.
Another player who had the same gun said its probably the Fire Selector Switch and rod. Switch moves fine but the rod doesn't look like it is engaging correctly if at all.
Upon removal the Fire Selector Switch was bent, so I assumed this was the problem, I straightened it up. But alas the metal was too brittle and I had the very end snap off, the metal block that grub screws on still goes on ok, but doesn't seem to rub against the selector switch too well.
I've emailed Ares, hopefully I can get a replacement part. Gun in question is 2nd hand and with loads of upgrades. So warranty etc is out of the question.
Is this all it could be? Or am I missing something.
