Wood/ Metal for AK47s
31 March, 2011, 11:17
Okay so I picked myself up a cheap CYMA AK47s on the forums and I'm considering getting a metal lower and wood kit just to finish it off. So far about the best I've seen is the King Arms Metal receiver. Just wondering if this will definately fit before I get it and if anyone has had experience/ any other suggestions. Thanks very much

the guarder kits are better imo, think they are alot of money, and yep, all aks use v3 gearboxes, and the same hop units etc, ive matched all sorts of bits from each other, just steer clear of the mongrel/inbred/gypsy brand ICS

Re: Wood/ Metal for AK47s
personally, I wouldnt bother with a metal kit! The Cymas are made from perfectly acceptable wood, and the real steel isnt made from super strong metal either!
Wood kits are plentiful, quite a few on auction sites!

The CM028 has a plastic receiver, perhaps he just wants piece of mind with a metal one

Cyma make plastic lowers? I didnt know that!
You can get perfectly well priced and good quality metal kits from over seas, you wont really need something as expensive as a guarder kit!
Someone was selling a 74SU folding stock body on here not long ago, might still be here!

Re: Wood/ Metal for AK47s
Yeah, I think some of their early AKs were all plastic. I think I had one of their first metal & wood AKs 2-3 years back when they originally released the AKSU, which was around the same time Kalash first released theirs
