Motor question
1 April, 2011, 09:17
Hello
I picked up a 2nd hand motor in a deal.
The guy swears that it came out of his TM M4A1 that he scapped
The motor is an EG560 and is competely cylindical in profile. It looks similar to a V1 motor or an SA80 style motor.
It is not slightly flattened like a standard V2 motor that fits inside a pistol grip.
Now Ive changed the springs inside 15+ M4 V2 gearboxs. Everything from TM to Dboys and have never come accross a round motor in a M4.
DID TM ever make an M4 which used a round section EG560 motor??? I need to be sure before I accuse some one of being mistaken.

Re: Motor question
From memory thats definately a motor from a TM Famas, it fitted inside the gearbox casing so was smaller than normal motors, still a good motor though.
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Re: Motor question
Ive got one in my parts box that came off a very old TM M16... I've also got the pistol grip which takes the wider profiled (rounded) motor. It's the A1 style grip.
They are usually associated with the FAMAS though
If you get them in old M16's, it's entirely possible they would turn up in M4's too
bought

Thanks Ali,
At least I know this guy wasn't lying.... He was just offloading a load of old crap that most of us would chuck out or give away
I must remember "Caveat emptor". I should have bought it off the zero-in forum!!
Still I know a few people with a FAMAS who I can donate the motor to.

Re: Motor question
They were included with the very old MP5s, and early M16s and XM177 before the 700 came in. It would have been from a TM armalite, but not the M4, the M4 was introduced as the first gun with the EG1000 motor, they never made it with anything less.
