Deans to mini tamiya?
2 April, 2011, 14:04
I'm looking at buying a gun off the forum atm, however it has deans connectors and i've only got mini tamiya batteries, it is an SRC G36E gen III.
How much of a problem is it going to be to get the gun using tamiyas? And what would be the best way of doing so

Deans to mini tamiya connector would be easiest.

Re: Deans to mini tamiya?
either get an adaptor from somewhere or crimp some tamiyas on or solder some deans onto your batteries

Re: Deans to mini tamiya?
if it says that it has been converted to deans
will it only be the part where the battery is attached?
I know that in a G36 the wire from the battery to the motor is more than one wire attached around the magwell area, so would I only need to change the connector at the handguard? and will I want a male or female bit for there

More than likley unless its been rewired by the previous owner too.
If that is the case just have a certain online electical supplier make up the lead to replace the front section of the wiring.

Re: Deans to mini tamiya?
Would be better for you to find someone local with a soldering iron and a few deans connectors to change your batteries to deans.
Shouldn't cost more than a couple of pints for a few connectors to be changed I wouldn't think.

Re: Deans to mini tamiya?
Yes deffinatly. They are much better, they allow the current to flow better and the gun will perform better.
You could then get a lead to go from your batteries to the charger, which would make better sence than the other way round.
Just ask anyone who has switched from Tamyias to deans what they think.

Re: Deans to mini tamiya?
I switched from Tamiyas to Deans, certainly a much improved ROF every gun i'v ever owned. It'll make 8.4v's actually useful if you like high fire rates.
I mainly switched because my friend has about 20 batteries all on deans and i rely on him if my batts run out. It costs hardly anything to buy a bag off Ebay, then you can just make a connector for your charger. ********* **** sell everything you'll need to change to deans.
