ok guys im sorry for the new thread but you cannot edit them : (

ok my new m4 is good but lacks one thing..

the range : (

ok what iv done..:

added a tight bore barrell

and but a silencer on it

now.

what should i do bearing in mind the fps is only 240.
should i get a 1j or m100 spring and get new gears?

because shorely that must help right higher fps?

Fps doesn't have as much an effect on range as you might think. Saying that though, a jump in 100 odd is going to go further.

A tm gun with a tightbore should be putting out colser to 290-300, with a very nice range. You may have put the hopup back together wrong. Take it out, and have a look down the barrel to see if it's functioning.

With that set up, and the hopup fixed, a 1J will run at about ~335fps, and an m100 with settle at >350.

yeah thanks keeper but our handy man at dorking says the hop up was fine and we cronoed it with the tight bore on and is at a low of 240 so i was think new spring?

or what about a new gear box like star or something?

STAR over TM? No. No no no.

Just put a 1J in, it'll be fine. Check your airseal for split rubbers/cracks etc whilst you're inside the gearbox.

really u think so?

i mean a 1j spring might stress the reliabilty of the gear box on the tm so if i bought a high powered one and then i would have a low powered tm for back up :P

Tm internals are better than Star. A 1J spring will be fine. I run 1Js in my Tm Sig, TM Mp5, and TM AK. All work fine and have done for a long while. All kicking out 340fps.

Very nice, if I may say so. The reason? The hops work. G&P, for example, may have rock solid internals, metal bodies and a great rof, but the have shite hops, and so have bad ranges, and inconsistant fps.

As TKOS said, you may have an air leak, as 240fps is way too low. I would have thought your "handy man at Dorking" would have known that and pointed it out.

Shizz, I think you are expecting too much from your rifle.
When i fired it on sunday it was fine and outranged a good percentage of other guns on site.
I personally would be happy with that kind of range and i cant see it improving that much.

hmm well u look at bornas p90 that outranged it quite a bit and ryans g36 made by jg with no upgrades what so ever still outranged mine : (

so u would thought a tm could do better : /

At 240fps, they will outrange you. I know I said fps doesn't equal range, but a difference of 100 (to a JG), will have an impact.

yeah, and just to say;
i cant see any problem with a 1J "straining" a TM mechbox.
i dont like TM's external build quality and so am not a fan, this is why it takes so much of a reputation for me to say this...THEY ARE AWESOME They never seem to break, reliable is the word!

dude my m m4 a1 kickin out 345 consitantly and got 1j just got better battery nice 8.4 2200 . and new upgraded piston in here systema poly carbon
