Re: What piston do i want for high rof in an AK?
Could someone tell me what correct AOE is and what AOE means?
I have removed teeth from the release end of the piston where there are 4 metal teeth left.
Thanks

If you yourself havent done the aoe then i doubt its perfect from standard, especially in the pistons resting position. Maybe thats causing the lock up (pre engagement). Take some pics for us with the piston in its most forward position with the sector gear resting on the pickup tooth. Then we can help to tell you if it is indeed corrected, saving you another trip in the GB

I suggest doing some research to be honest. Millions of threads on probably EVERY forum on aoe.
I am not sure what you have done reading your replies but it looks like something you maybe shouldnt have done.

I second the above, pics of things certainly help alot though, failing that then do a bit more research

I have listened to the replies, researched AOE and correct setup with looking at videos and more online too.
Rebuilt the gearbox now and its firing very nice
All that was needed was to sort out the gap in the piston which i have done with a metal plate and is now firing great.
Ready to use a lipo me thinks :D

Re: What piston do i want for high rof in an AK?
Now thats why I use a 7 metal tooth piston so you dont have to do all that malarky, just chop them off the front however many you want to short stroke by.
If you only want 20 - 30 you don't need to worry about the weight.
