8 May, 2011, 16:37
just had a thought this minute...
my dealge is brill !
but the battery is terrible, it has a 1 second delay before firing ... and doesnt last many shots.
now...
it COULD be the battery.
but my main question is:
how can i mod it to take a standard 8.4v Mini-type ????
cheers guys,
iain

I'm by no means an expert but I think you would be pushed with an 8.4v mini type. You might get a lipo in there but I'm not sure if it could run on a lipo without eating itself.

Modifying the connectors shouldn't be hard provided you have some wiring and a mini tamiya somewhere.
But you won't find space for the battery inside the gun. So you'll need to mount an external battery somewhere. Or run a long wire to a battery in your vest.

8.4v minis are about double the volume of AEP batteries. It's not going in.
My advice would be to buy a TM AEP battery.
Or just buy a TM desert eagle. Then it'll be gas. And thus more awesome.

Touché
if you have the skills and confidence i say go for it. just expect the possibility of it destroying itself with the extra voltage but I'm sure it's possible with a fair few modifications.

you should be able to fit a 500-800mah 7.4v lipo inside if you aren't anti-lipo. My 18c has run perfectly since the lipo upgrade. No problems at all. Runs for ages and trigger response is sooooo much better.
will require some soldering skills mind
