Low fps m4

Howdy, not really something that would bother me but it is, my m4 is coming in at between 250-270
Two issues, low fps and inconsistency, tried a different spring, pretty sure I have an m100 in there now but not 100%.
Iv just dropped a Lee precision piston head inside with an airbrake, a TK twist and falcon hop, iv tested the cylinder, barrel and hop for air leaks and all are fine. Iv stumped now, fps not the big issue, but why the inconsitant fps ? Maybe try a new m100 perhaps ? my twist is from an mp5 and I totally forgot to swap out the ported cylinder, so I'm running an mp5 length barrel on a m4 length cylinder? Maybe that ? Or maybe because it's further from my chrono due to it being halfway down my outa barrel ?

Btw using .2s on a mad bull chrono which generally reads 10fps lower that site.

229mm barrel and no ported cylinder - taadaa your problem.

lol! it is ported :S about three QRTs back, however my ICS one ( the MP5 cylinder ) is ported too ( obv ) but has a different style, looks like a cone. But doesnt seem to be in any better position that the M4 :S
