Single shot problem, Help?!

Hello all,

Went to a shoot yesterday and realized that on my ICS M4A1 (plastic bodied) wasn't shooting right.
On single shot the range varies drastically, the range is not where as good as before and is barely hitting 20 meters before dropping off, but this varies from 20 to 15 on alternate shots (one shot is about 20 the other shot following it is about 12-15 meters before it drops off, then the shot after that is back to 20 meters)

But on full auto, the range is quite a bit better,
I heard someone mention something about the piston o ring and it getting inflated or something along those lines)

any help (and obviously solutions) would be much appreciated,

Sounds like it could be the o ring on the piston head , i'd just fit a better piston head and o ring as the standard ics one isnt upto much anyway .

What BB's do you use mate?

Sounds like what I had with my Sentry. I thought it was an air leak, but I changed over to blasters and all was fine.

I think the bb's are aim tops,

but as posted above ive got a feeling this is a airseal problem... ill try new bb's next time i shoot before i do anything though

Yeah Aimtops are rubbish mate. I'd take a bet that its them

Hmm, possibly, i'm going to take apart the upper gearbox tomorrow to see if theres a proper airseal etc

In Aimtops defence. I have used nothing but them for the last...erm well I dont remember exaclty as I bought 120,000 of the little buggers. They have been ok for me. It is over 2 years though.

shhhhh...lunch time....

Actually now you come to mention speed.....erm.... I have two of my own gear boxes apart at the moment...One vertually new and just swapped over from dsg. The other re setting the fet and tweaking.

I thought to myself these will be fine they are only slow.....HA...feck me they must both be 30 a sec on 7.4...lol... Just goes to show, you do get used to speed....They both seemed quite slow compared to the M41.

I know G&P Sentries dislike Aimtops, I used to use them in my other guns with no problem.
