Motor connectors and wiring.
12 June, 2011, 10:41
Hi all.
Does anyone know where I can get some standard motor wire connectors from. Been searching for a while with no joy. All they are are a spade type connector but all I can find are the larger crimp style ones and not the soldering ones I need.
My other question is about wiring. What type of wire is used in the gearboxes ( v2) rating wise. Any ideas?
Cheers guys.

Re: Motor connectors and wiring.
maplins sell the correct motor spade connectors ( come with a red cap that needs cutting off , and you have to open them up a little )
depends on the gun tbh , but most are 18awg

Re: Motor connectors and wiring.
So essentially they are just 2.8mm crimp style connectors with the plastic cut off then....lol Sounds like a visit to a pound shop is in order....lmao
Cheers all.

Re: Motor connectors and wiring.
a wee tip is to bend the fitting over - almost 90 degrees ( but don't snap it), and solder a small spot on the back of the fitting at the joint. This helps the joint and prevents snapping. A bit of heat shrink over the top and thats it, job done
