angel of alignment

Hi, was just wondering if somebody could clear up what is meant by the angle of alignment, heard it a couple of times from people (often referring to their standard out of the box fixes before using a new rif).

No idea what that is...never heard of it.

However, AOE, being Angle of Engagement is something I have heard of and really there are loads of threads on it.

It is getting the Sector gear pick up tooth and the pick up tooth on the piston lined up.

i realized my spelling error the second i posted, glad i have coursed some amusement =P

back to the point though, im still none the wiser to the angle of engagement. what exactly is misaligned? and how is it fixed? is it something that is fixed by shimming, or by rotating the driver gear to a different angle before closing the mech box back up?

there be no angel answering these questions =P

midas, my apologies for asking questions on a subject i knew nothing about. and as many people have pointed out already in this thread i not only miss spelled angle but was saying alignment not engagement, i can assume a google search or a search using the zeroin search engine would have probably turned up nothing based on the fact that the limited information i had was wrong from the start.
