  • space between shell and gearbox ??

right ive been think about modding my G&G GR16 M4A1 and i wondered how much space there between the shell and gearbox housing sa i have some 5mm pipe lagging the i wanted to fill the space between it thus muffling some of the sound with out a major strip down

I somehow think that there will not be enough room, m4 gearboxes are tight in the bodies, I agree with laurence just take a look, you also have to take into account the selector plate and not to cover that,

You may be able to get some in under the upper, otherwise it's pretty pointless as you can't get much in and it starts messing with things like the selector plate if you're not careful. It will be easier with a plastic body though, not much space or flexibility in a G&P receiver which is what I tried with.
