Re: airsoft motor out of gun... sparks?!
I have had times when you put the base plate in, the wires sit between the motor and the base plate pushing the motor far to high. Other times you will have to spread the wires out from the end bell so the slides fit down the side of the motor.
I think thats what Joes trying to say too.

yeah, I know what you mean, but it seems even the lowest it can go pushes it to far in....
the sort of lip catches the motor far to early..

Re: airsoft motor out of gun... sparks?!
Sounds like the endbell isn't sitting into the recessed area set out for it.
I have the same problem on one of my grips, its a JG SPR grip, if I screw the motor plate all the way in it just plain doesn't sit right, and the angle of motor engagement to the bevel gear is to steep.
I found that just making sure the plate was flush with the bottom of the grip solves it (undoing the screws a little basically).
I do hate working on M4's though, they give me the most trouble of any gun. That may just be V2's though.
Give me a V3 any day of the week.

Re: airsoft motor out of gun... sparks?!
I have a similar problem with one of my base plates, no matter what it just won't adjust properly, I don't know why but I've tried it with multiple motors & pistol grips, it seems to be too thick or something. Not sure. Whenever possible I use the vented ones like this:
Fit perfectly and help keep the motor cool. Just gotta watch out for wet/dirt. I take the risk though.
May I also suggest you buy a new set of screws, it's like 60p for a whole set of screws for your gearbox etc with screw heads rather than alan heads. So much better!!
