Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section...

I have an Ultrafire 501B R2 Cree Torch, the 5 mode version (three levels of brightness, strobe and SOS), with a pressure pad tail cap.

I am finding that unless I press down really hard on the pressure pad, I cycle through the modes, rather than activating the mode I want. So, if I press the pressure pad down five times, I get all five modes.

Lesson learned, next torch will be single mode!

In the meantime, can anyone give me some advice about whether it's possible (and relatively easy) to either:

convert my existing torch to single mode (unlikely I recon),
disable the cycle function on the pressure pad (again, probably unlikely),
or, to change the sensitivity of the pressure pad to prevent inadvertent mode cycles (probable best option I am guessing)

And my final question: are there any other options for torch activation, other than pressure pads? Does anyone use small switches or slides instead?

    Thanks in advance all...

    Alex
