Do all receivers have this on the side?
20 September, 2009, 13:56
First off I realise this isn't specifically tech - but I thought it would be best in here
Now I am a bit confused identifying a receiver that I have and I have looked through loads of retailers and the closest match I could find (eg. trades etc.) is a G&P SR16 M4 Metal Body.
However when I first looked at the receiver I was sure it was Classic Army as on the right side of the receiver, just infront of the cocking lever but a bit down it has 'C A' (but the A has two lines coming off of it). Now i have always thought that it was a classic army trademark but after searching the internet i couldn't find a classic army receiver like this. So i am wondering whether all receivers have this including G&P ones?
thanks for reading.

Dont imagine so, two piece hops have to be screwed into the front of hte lower receiver.

Re: Do all receivers have this on the side?
I think the 2 piece hop ups are designed for use in TM M4s due to the way they come apart, everything else uses a 1 piece system. So I'd say no, but maybe someone else could back me up

As for the ris, undo the allen bolt on the top thats towards the rear of the ris, then just pull out the delta ring, drop the bottom, drop the top.

Barny thanks very much.
ejtrent: the ris doesn't seem to have a allen bolt
* in fact it doesn't seem to have any screws.

Re: Do all receivers have this on the side?
The Delta ring doesn't pull back - I think it is one piece or maybe unscrews. But the silver shaft running along the inside stops this happening.
I am going to make a new thread for this - but in a couple of days as I will need pics. So anymore help here would be much appreciated.

Take off flashider, take off front sight block, should be two pins and a grub screw, then the silver rod should come out. Then you unscrew the delta ring, CCW to undo iirc. and the ris should come off. If ive thinking of the RIS thats one piece i.e. free floating?
