  • TM M14 Single Shot Conversion - Ooops

    As my M14 was putting out 352fps - above my site's AEG limit, I thought I'd have a go at a single shot conversion.

    I therefore removed Part "B" from the picture below:



    I also removed the actual selector from the other side as well.

    For most of yesterday things worked fine, until my son reported it was firing on full auto again!

    I've looked inside and found that Part "A" on the picture below is broken (sheared off the end bit that goes into the gearbox & holds the spring).



    I can no longer get single shot by moving part "A" to both extremities.

    Should the broken part attach to something inside the mechbox as all I can see is the main gear spinning?

    I believe that part A is the cut-off lever that makes it fire semi-auto, you'll need a replacement part, apparently its a common problem.

      it pushes the switch to the off position so you have to pull the trigger again, maybe you forgot to install the spring on the control bar causing it to 'flop' around and break?
