Clipping a spring
9 February, 2009, 12:12
I need to cut the power of a couple of my guns by 10-20fps.
I know that you can clip the spring back, but I'm not sure how to finish it off. I understand that I should smooth the cut down, but aren't the springs normally finished with a section that runs at right angles to the length of the spring? Surely, if I cut the spring back, I'll end up with an end that looks completely different to the other end? Does that matter?
Thanks for any advice you can give me guys.

Re: Clipping a spring
if you cut it carefully with a dremel grinding disk, you can control the angle of cut carefully.
Remove any sharp edges, and bend the end of the spring inwards to the other coils.
the modified end towards the piston head and your fine.
