aoe advice
28 October, 2011, 12:42
how do i know ive got the aoe right in my gearbox
and is it necessary to file the second tooth of my piston ?
what should i see (with spring in) in the gearbox
(ive got an ics so do i have to look at both casing or just the upper?)
if i pry the cylinder head pad out would 4mm be enough sorbo for just the cylinder head (no sorbo on piston head)
and lastly whats aoe?
its just im getting some sorbothane and i was looking on other forums and they were talking about these thing

Re: aoe advice
For aoe to be correct the sector gear usually touches the first tooth of the piston at the 12 o'clock position, which is also where the tooth of both the sector gear and piston have most contact (faces meet)
The correcting the aoe you usually need to file the second tooth and maybe even the third to make sure that the first tooth is the only tooth that touches the first tooth of the sector gear
I would get a proper Sorbo pad
Aoe is the angle of which the first piston tooth hits the first gear on the sector gear
