Hi guys, youve guessed it im having some trouble replacing the spring in my mechbox. I cant seem to remove the piston head and fit the spring. Also having bother getting a mysterious spring back to where it needs to be, i think it goes on the tappet plate but not sure.

Any help greatly appreciated, just for reference its a CM.035 gearbox

Sorry should have made this clearer, Im lookin to change the spring from the standard one to a gaurder SP100. Do/should I remove the top of the piston to install it or just stick it in?

doesnt it just slip right out?
you may need to twist the piston head of like in tm ones(iirc)
or there may be a screw that you need to unscrew to get the piston head off, shine a torch down the piston and have a look to see if there is a screw.

                Re: V3 Mechbox help

Most if not all aftermarket springs available these days don't have hooks like the stock ones do, so once you've removed the old spring, you just put the base back, screw the piston head back on and pop the new spring in.
Remember, for non linear springs, the tighter coiled end goes towards the spring guide.
