G and G toptech M4A1
11 October, 2009, 21:45
Hi Guys,
Looking for some assistance;
Was using the above rifle for around 60 mins on auto/single fire etc and it worked perfectly - I was waiting for the next ambush, just as we had contact i pressed the trigger and had nothing - No response from the motor, no nothing !?
Stripped it down to check wires, motor for dirt etc, and they all seem to be ok - Fuse looks absilutley fine, was wondering if you guys had any experience - In my mind to suddenly stop working, it seems like the fuse.....
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
-Vinny-

Re: G and G toptech M4A1
Did you open the gearbox?
That might not necessarily be the thing required, as you can just check the opening in the cylinder, and if you can't see the piston, then it's probably locked back.. You would need to open the Gearbox to sort this one out.

Re: G and G toptech M4A1
Hi Gaf,
Thanks for the reply - I didnt open the gearbox, as i as unsure on how to get it open. I must admit - Im a newbie when it comes to guns. However - I need the experience, so am having a go
If it is the issue with the piston, why would have this been caused ? It was firing really nicely - And then nothing........
I literally get no feedback from the rifle at all...

Re: G and G toptech M4A1
Another battery would be the option too...
We've all got to start somewhere eh!?
If the piston has locked back, it's more than likely going to be due to the Anti Reversal Latch jumping out of place or being misaligned, or something. But remember, all you need to do is take the Gearbox out of the gun, for you to tell us if the piston has locked back, you don't need to disassemble it to tell us if it has locked back.

Re: G and G toptech M4A1
Hi Guys,
yes inital check was new battery - Followed by checking of fuse.
Both came back with neagtive result - I will try a new fuse first; If I have no joy, I wil attempt to take out the gearbox. Does anyone know how to get into it on a G and G rifle ?
Thanks for help thus far.

I really would like to help you, but you're not really helping yourself really...
It took me 16 seconds to do a search on google, then to be linked to youtube to find this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5U2_2T0pTc
It's similar disassembly for all G&G Armalite models.

Re: G and G toptech M4A1
Hello Gaffa,
As i said in previous posts - I would have "helped Myself" if the fuse did not work ! However, it appears to have done the trick - However, I purchased a pack of 30mm 10A fuses today - These are too big, and wont fit into the fuse holder. I attached the fuse the best way I could to see if the rifle worked, and hey presto - It did....
Does anyone know where I can purchase a 20mm 20A fuse - I have looked been to the obvious places; However - I resent paying 65p and £7 post here !!!!!!!
Any ideas ?

Re: G and G toptech M4A1
Glad to hear it's all sorted.
It won't be £7 postage, phone them up (Zero1) and tell them about the product, and that its the only thing you wish to purchase, and they should be able to get it sent out with a postage price of £2.50... That's what it was for me with my ICS motor pinion gear.

Re: G and G toptech M4A1
I get my fuses at a national car parts/bike retailer with an orangey sign... But of course Zero one would do them too... :-)
