New player who would like some advice on basic maintenance

Hi, new to airsoft (4 games thus far :D) I currently have a TM MP5 RAS AEG and im not entirely sure on basic maintenance, any advice would be much appreciated

before and after any skirmish make sure any exterior parts like sights or butt plates are still on the gun and secure. same goes for any small grub screws that holds stuff on, like the tiny screw that secures the mp5 fire select - losing essential or tiny parts ingame and/or having to look for them is 1) no fun, and 2) a big waste of game time.

apart from a very occasional barrel clean most new aegs (esp from TM) should run for several thousand rounds before needing any serious maintenance, i'd say leave well alone unless something goes wrong

read up on how to treat your battery with the care it needs and it should last as long as the aeg..
