WE M4 irregular auto

hi,

It fires fine on semi but on full auto sometimes it fires fine, other time its fire auto it seem like the bolt sticks on a few shots and gives it a irregular fire rate and seem to "chug on some shots" it still fires but feels weird and sounds weird.

Also when on full auto it is a bit temperamental with cocking you have to pull the charging handle and let it go or pull and push it forward with a little force or when you pull the trigger nothing will happen pulling it and letting go seem to engage the hammer every time is this normal?

Take the bolt assembly out and lightly pull on the air nozzle and let it go. Does the spring bring it back to it's reset position without assistance and does it move freely?

Could be that the spring or the o-ring is shot or weakened maybe. Alternatively are you running with a stock trigger set and if so how old is the gun?

Does it do this with all the mags?
