Modifying gas routers on magazines

The nine ball gas routers for sig and hi capa magazines are often described as being a great upgrade for numerous reasons including higher fps and better efficiency.

Big problem is that they aren't available for all the mags on the market.

Has anyone tried modifying there existing/stock routers.

I would like to know if and how the routers on my meu magazines could be improved

Can I file down the straight edges within the router?

I have seen the Nine Ball routers modified to fit a PX4 and I did get one to fit an meu mag once though it was a tight fit and caused the slide to stick a bit, probably gave worse ags efficiency and FPS! I doubt you would be able to modify the exisiting router and make it smooth enough to achieve a high FPS, it would probably get worse.

Fair enough. I have already shimmed the mags which made a massive difference.

Probably wont bother then!
