WE scar semi auto mod....
30 March, 2013, 08:53
Hi All,
Any suggestions as to why filing the selector HASN'T stopped the scar selecting auto?
See here:
http://wem4guide.wikidot.com/modifications#toc3
I've filed it completely flat and it's not made a difference at all.
And yes I'm aware the guide is for an m4 but google eludes to the process being the same!

Well as its all to do with the cutoff lever's interaction with the selector plate, I think a pic would help.

I'm sure you need to add a cut out on the cam its self so the trigger sear is not depressed

Re: WE scar semi auto mod....
There is another retailer / distributor from HK who have a UK office in Tewksbury. They offer this as an irreversible factory mod.
If your Google-foo is good enough they should be able to help you out.

It's not the selector that needs modding its the sear.
I know its a fuzzy photo but on the left is a modified (snapped) sear that will only allow semi auto fire, on the right is a factory standard one that allows both semi and full auto.
The vid is made by an Australian guy who was peeved because it had either been broken at point of sale or by customs to adhere to his state or general Australian law on airsoft weapons only having semi auto capabilities.

Very informative video and its easily reversible with a spare sear in your parts box.

Re: WE scar semi auto mod....
Thanks again Tisane!
That was my next step, as per the other thread you helped me with (quite the opposite issue there though!)
I just wondered why filing the selector didn't resolve the issue, as per the many threads on google!

I don't see how it could work myself as even without that nub the sear would still contact the selector.
