Guarder Glock Frame
2 August, 2013, 23:14
I broke the front screw post on my TM Glock 17 so ordered a 2013 Guarder Frame as replacement.
It looks and feels lovely, but the slide (stock plastic TM) is not moving as freely as with the TM frame and does not return into battery with and great haste after releasing the slide release.
But oddly, if I remove the front screw, the slide racks as smooth as with the TM Frame and the slide slams home very nicely.
It appears that when I tighten the screw, it forces the front slide rail slightly out of fractionally alignment and not running parallel to the rear assembly.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm wondering if adding a few gearbox shims to the underside of the front slide rail where the screw engages the frame would be ok in the long run? I really don't want to take a file to the slide if I can avoid it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Guarder Glock Frame
I'd have thought shimming it would be fine

2x 0.2mm gearbox shims on top of the screw post and the slide is now cycling beautifully.
